Do Not Disturb

My mom who would have been 85 today did a fair amount of traveling in the early and mid fifties. She collected “Do Not Disturb” signs from various hotels. Here they are. [click on images to enlarge]

  1. These are so goddamn cool. Nice tribute to the moms, too, putting ’em online for folks to see.

  2. i agree with scott, nice tribute, and (as the over-used saying goes)” the acorn doesn’t fall far from the tree.” happy birthday mrs. cronin wherever you are. great collection, thanks for sharing.

  3. And don’t you hate it when they deliver a telegram just as you’re getting into the shower?

What if you’re already disturbed? …. Do you still need the sign??

  4. My father, Howell J. Yogg, produced the ones identified as from Yogg & Co. This was a tiny fraction of 1% of what he did. He would have appreciated this. Thanks

These fascinating signs can become quite an obsession. I have a collection of over 8700 and it’s still growing.
