Film & TV Graphics 2
This is a collection of stills from animated films. Graphis Press released this in 1976. I’m not sure where I got it from, it might have been in a box of books John Gall was kind enough to send my way. Besides info on the films I will try and provide links to either clips of the films or other work by the artist:
The first three stills are from Adam II by Jan Lenica (Germany 1969) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oif0gz3O0kA
The next two are from American Follies by Seymour Chwast/Pushpin Studios (USA) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1_eX170opFs
The next two are from The Maggot by George Dunning (UK, 1973) Dunning also worked on Yellow Submarine https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0WYXuL3Gx7g
The next four are from Captain Incredible by Jim Fitzpatrick/GTO Productions (UK) These were an animated film insert in a stage musical
This last batch is from The Gardener, a fifteen minute pilot film for an animated series on BBC by Bert Kitchen/Eric Paitze/Ken Brown/BBC (UK)

Wow. I love all of them, they’re so beautiful. For some reason George Dunning’s stuff reminds me of my all time film favourite, Dead Man by Jim Jarmusch. Especially a scene in the movie, where Johnnie Depp’s character William Blake steps on a severed head and brain and what’s left of the skull look like some saint’s distorted head with a bloody halo surrounding it.
It’s a good thing Captain Incredible was there to warm up that redhead, cause she’s looking mighty cold …… and what is she doing with her right hand that’s making Captain Incredible smile like that ??
She’s giving him a hand jive.
