Wow, WAPP … what a blast from the past. I remember the year that station first came on the air, they went commercial free for the whole summer. I was pumping gas (about 60-70 hours a week) that summer, and we had the radio blasting WAPP all day and night … at least that’s the way I remember it, because they say constant exposure to gas fumes can wreck your memory, so that’s the end of my story … because, somehow I can’t seem to remember too much more about that summer, and I don’t know why ??
P.S. They say constant exposure to gas fumes can wreck your memory, but it didn’t seem to affect me at all.
The El Greco ad was the best. Wycked Sceptre!!!!
That Kinks programme brings to mind the unfortunate incident you and Dave Davies had in Washington, DC, lo those many years ago.
I think I was at that Kinks show. The poster brings back strong smell-memory of my own feces and sputum.
